Building on her considerable experience on a wide range of material and non-material spaces, Katharina established her own architectural practice in 2021. katharinavolgger.studio is concerned with processes and their narrative in an urban and rural context.

Ideas become stronger when they are thought collectively. The practice often worked and works collaboratively, with, bplus.xyz, Christopher Grabow, Mara Kanthak, KOSMOS architects, Elisabet Sundin and Studio Fabian Ziltz, among others.

Since 2023, Katharina has lectured on the subject of Urban Design at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences and Architecture at the Fachgebiet Entwerfen und Raumgestaltung at TU Darmstadt.

Katharina has worked for several offices in the past, including BeL Sozietät für Architektur in Köln, Barkow Leibinger in Berlin, as well as HHF Architects in Basel, among others. She was a researcher at the Institute of Architecture and Landscape TUGraz with Prof. Klaus K. Loenhart.

Katharina holds a diploma degree in architecture and studied in Graz, Aarhus and Reykjavik. She is a registered architect, a Member of NRW Chamber of Architects.
